What is number line in maths? A number line is a straight, usually horizontal line with numbers placed at even increments along the length. Even if the space between the numbers is equal, it is not a ruler. So, basically the space between each number doesn’t matter.

A number line can be extended infinitely in any direction. As I mention earlier, it is usually represented horizontally. The numbers on the number line increase as one moves from left to right and decrease on moving from right to left.
